Well, it depends on where you’re from.
In America, a third of a cup would be 7 tablespoons. But in Asia and Australia, that measurement is only 4 tablespoons.
Most Asian countries use the metric system while American cups are measured in Imperial units meaning 1/3 of an American rounded up or shorted down cup is about 3 tablespoons which is equivalent to 12 teaspoons versus 18 for Americans.
The Australian measurement of the tablespoon and teaspoon differs from the other two countries because they use the metric system too but their butter also comes in 100g packs which we have never seen here in America because all our butter comes in sticks and half sticks at 2 tablespoons that equals one stick at 1 tablespoon!
