What does crying obsidian do in Minecraft?

But most likely when players think they have reached bedrock (The End), this means their character has just entered a huge mass of obsidian which now blocks further progress in that direction; so instead they must turn around and head back out by going to wherever their last door exit was). This leads these players to believe all raids on Minecraft by other people are all just obsidian doors in the sides of mountains or under huge masses of water.
