It means that the package is moving from one “zone” to another. When a package moves from one state to another, it generally leaves FedEx Ground before going into transit.
The first and most basic zone is home, which usually includes your (or your shipment’s) address, the depot, and any other locations registered on your account with us. Being in transit means either traveling between various postal zones or being delayed at an airport awaiting pickup or delivery from our courier service.
