A tri-state area is where 3 states come together. A tri-state area is the northeastern part of the US, where 4 American states (New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and Pennsylvania) intersect.
We have a long coastline with maritime access to fish in salt and fresh water. Inland areas yields dairy products such as cheese from grass-fed cows which are prized for their nutrition that produces high levels of beta-carotene. Our large lake region has abundant rainfall that flows toward the coast through complex drainage arrangements so we can grow many varieties of plant crops such as corn, soybeans, wheat and rye which are known sources for oil production in America.

The name “tri-state” does not refer to the three states themselves but rather to their geographic position relative to one another; all three are in the northeastern United States. However, only two have an indeterminate boundary: Connecticut’s southern boundary is sandwiched between New York and Long Island—within the last year it has claimed shifting sands from Atlantic Beach as its unfixed border with New York. Decades ago when Eastern Long Island was still a consideration in establishing a set border, Connecticut claimed Eastern Huntington when it said that State Line Avenue ran through there (the buildings now on this property were built before any claim existed). This leaves only Delaware as the only state with clear boundaries.

Sure it’s big, but it’s not an even more giant region spanning 10+ states as many seem to believe – those would be mega regions like California or Texas.
