Refurbished is when an item has been repaired or cleaned because it was faulty, whereas refurbishment is the systematic rebuilding of structures, such as buildings and bridges.
A complete overhaul of a building would be considered refurbishment. When you talk about repairing something like a toaster oven or phone, refurbishing means restoring it to its previous condition, like when you replace the battery in your laptop before giving it away. Renewed would mean bringing something back to life in that instance. So if we’re talking about restingock at Walmart with fresh items – everything becomes “renewed” even though they may not always be new items. It’s considered semantics for sure!
