Hanahaki disease is a name for what is also known as edema of the oropharynx, or oropharyngeal edema. This occurs when fluid on the back of the tongue swells to a point where it can’t be swallowed and lingers in the mouth for hours at a time
Most commonly seen in children, there are some rare instances that this condition can occur later in life. Polyps, tumors and obstructions such as cancers have been thought to cause hanahaki disease, but according to recent studies they are not always present (and sometimes people who eat large amounts of dairy products never experience it). This phenomenon remains an interesting medical mystery.
A Hanahaki Disease is when you want to vomit.
Iceland has a similar disease called hanakikaja. It is marked by the puffer fish-like appearance of someone with their mouth wide open, making this sound or ma-ma-ma as they gasp for breath and have spasms. The word literally means ‘fish gasps’.
Hanahaki Disease is the illness that occurs when you spontaneously exhale love as if you have a cough or cold. Once someone has been exposed to this disease, their loving feelings will be constantly released at any given moment until they are cured from this sickness. The sufferer can’t control these feelings of love and have no choice but to release them or just keep everything on-the-downlow.
Hanahaki disease is a rare condition which afflicts the lungs. Apparently, it’s also know as “Broken Heart Disease” in some parts of Asia.
The name could come from the hallmark symptoms for patients with this disorder including coughing, difficulty breathing and chest pain resulting from broken heart syndrome due to severe emotional trauma (disappointment, grief).
In terms of genetics and specific causes of this disease, there are still a lot we don’t know but at least one case was traced back to having been given the wrong medication by an unqualified nurse. The most common cause that has been observed seems to be extreme emotional distress or intense anger – often manifested by domestic violence victims who were neglected or mistreated during childhood.
The Hanahaki Disease is a fictional disease from Japan which affects the brain and makes people very sexually promiscuous.
An illness that robs sufferers of any inhibitions, including sexual ones, to be overcome by an irresistible urge to have sex with as many people as possible in a single day. The virus was first seen striking in Asian countries like Vietnam, Cambodia, and Thailand before being found throughout world populations.
One factor has been identified so far that seems to influence the incidence of infection: Being poor or marginalized appears to increase exposure risk… According to statistics compiled from Asia—where it is apparently more prevalent than elsewhere—the event starts four days after incubation begins with intense headaches and fatigue.
Hanahaki is when a person’s stomach muscles twist around the stomach, meaning it can’t digest any food.
This leads to starvation and indigestion, which causes weight loss even if enough food has been eaten.
Eating heavy foods increases gas and bloating because the muscles are not strong enough. That feeling when your stomach hurts after eating? It could be hanahaki!
Dieting may exacerbate symptoms – without sufficient calories, the body starts breaking down muscle instead of fat to make up for the deficit in calories – and other bad habits like drinking or smoking can contribute.
Hanahaki Disease is a term given to describe the symptom of coughing up blood as if “bleeding from the heart.” It’s unclear how many cases this refers to, but there may be cases in which people have had tuberculosis and have ruptured small vessels in their lungs that then cause bleeding. However, because this has become a catch-all for any case of coughing up blood it’s possible that doctors are diagnosing other conditions using Hanahaki Disease.
The state of pseudothrombocytopenia means that you don’t produce enough platelets and can lead to constant nose bleeds or other more severe bleeding episodes – most often with women who are on oral contraceptives.
Hanahaki Disease is a condition that occurs where the victim develops a cough and later finds flowers coming out of their mouth.
The Hakuho Flower is born from the mouths of those suffering from this rare condition, taking on lovely appearances as they grow. Affected humans seem to be directly connected to Maiko Gaisen Kitsune – kitsunes with nine tails or more who govern time and space. The Hakuho Flower’s scent consists entirely of gloom ridden spores that drive men mad.
It’s a Japanese legend of a disease that has the ability to make someone whose heart is broken literally die from crying.
There was once a fisherman who had six daughters and they were all most cheerful and good-natured girls, but the youngest of them always stayed more quietly at home than any of the others. “What makes you so lazy?” her sisters would say to her; “when we want to play, with whom do you play?” But she only grew prettier day by day like flowers in water until oneday, when she saw herself reflected in a mirror , she thought to herself: “If I play out of doors with the others, they will laugh at me for being so dark and ugly.” But her sisters made fun of her more than ever when they saw her sad face. So the girl went away to the forest and sat by an oak tree until the moon came out over the treetops. She sat there thinking about her sister’s words and then she was overcome by such an overpowering longing for somebody that she fainted away. The next morning at sunrise, when people were making their way through the forest to go to work in the fields, they found her dead under the oak tree and they knew that it must be the Hanahaki Disease.
What happened to her? “Why would you even ask such a thing?” Of course, she died from crying! That’s why the disease is called the Hanahaki Disease (Hanaha = tears; ku = sickness).
Hanahaki Disease is a condition in which the individual can only speak or write for one minute before needing to take a break and catch their breath.
A sudden expulsion of air, associated with the previous intake and exhalation of air, is noted. Thereafter, hiccups are less paroxysmal than in other forms of spasm such as cyclic alternating hiccups.
