Which is better EPUB or MOBI for kindle?
An EPUB is better for use on non-Kindle devices, because it’s an open standard. The Kindle converts the HTML in the EPUB to its proprietary formats (AZW3 and KF8), which may result in a layout that doesn’t work as well as being based solely on EPUB code. MOBI files are improved version of MobiPocketBooks that were created with Mobipocket Creator 2 from 1997 to 2000—Mobipocket Reader from 1998 to 2000 could read these files.
MOBI ebooks could be viewed on paperwhite or kindle fire since mobi ebook is compatible with kindle books with mobi extension but epub file can’t be used as kindle books.
You can read MOBI file on kindle fire and paperwhite device but epub can’t be read on these devices.
Both MOBI and its better version EPUB are compatible with different e-readers like Kindle, Nook, Kobo etc .
