Which is better EPUB or MOBI for kindle?

If two books are unavailable in the same format, MOBI is better because it has a higher quality and clarity. EPUB should be the first choice if both formats are available.
MOBI files come in Kindle’s proprietary “mobipocket” filetype. They have a higher resolution than the usual .epub files, and also use DRM to keep them from being loaned or copied freely on other devices (like a computer).
EPUB files can be read on any device that displays this file type as opposed to MOBI which is only readable by Kindle. However, you cannot add annotations or make highlights due to DRM which blocks such interactions with MOBI books but not EPUB ones.
