Thor is the son of Odin and a goddess named Jord. He has a hammer called Mjolnir that is able to control time and can even create portals to other dimensions. Thor was destined to be King of Asgard, but after he disobeyed his father’s orders, the kingdom was attacked by frost giants.
He also wields the forge-hammer Jarnbjorn, which while inferior in every way except appearance to Mjolnir it compensates for its lack of power with its sheer size and weight; enough so as for Thor (albeit with effort) to bash Mangog into submission
Thor has appeared in Norse mythology since at least the 13th century AD, and it’s known that Norse mythology existed as early as the 9th century AD.
Thor is a fictional superhero appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics, as one of the most powerful superheroes in the Marvel Universe.
