AMD.
Look at the acronym– What does it say? RH-ATX, or RTX? The lettering on these graphics cards should be read so that they show what video game system would correspond to them. And since NVIDIA is a hardware manufacturer of the GTX (and RTX) gaming card line, and not an gaming platform company, then their new 20 series cards will fit into the PC gaming part of your computer’s motherboard better than theirs. If you’re still confused, you might want to ask someone else this question instead rather than just relying on my word for it.
RTX is better.
RTX graphics cards are the next generation of NVIDIA’s graphics processor, they can efficiently use Tensor cores (Tensor Cores are the only thing that gives them an edge over GTX) to do real-time ray tracing in gaming applications. Ray-tracing algorithms use a lot of power but these new GPU’s are built for future computing needs and for modern games.
The RTX is a newer product, but the GTX cards are cheaper. So which one is better depends on your budget and how much you’re willing to pay for performance.
Choosing the right graphics card is all about balancing price with performance. Higher-end RTX models cost a lot more than their GTX counterparts, so they might be worth it if you’re running the most demanding games at high settings or like to stream video in 1080p60fps at 1440 hz. But if you just want higher frame rates on less graphically demanding games, then a GTX card should do the trick—and without costing as much money or taking up as much space inside your system.
GTX because it doesn’t need to be repurchased as often.
RTX cards will usually last for 4 years before needing to be replaced, while a few expensive models of the current generation GTX card might last 5 years. On top of that, RTX cards require higher system specs than the equivalent GTX model in order to run smoothly and without significant spikes in frame rate and stutter. The added expense may not be worth it if you only plan on owning your PC 3-5 years or less. Similarly with laptops – an RTX laptop can cost upwards $1,600 vs a comparable (although lower-spec) GTX notebook with similarly less price variance.
The GTX and the RTX are very different in design, so it depends on what you are looking for.
The RTX series cards have 2 HDMI ports that can enable a VR headset alongside the card, an HD port for cable connections, and dual 8-pin power connectors to ensure your system’s stability during maximal gaming. Where as the GTX series only comes with one HDMI port. It also has a single 6-pin power connector and no double 8-pin power connection.
I recommend the RTX cards because they have more HDMI ports for connecting VR headsets or external monitors like TVs or projectors to play games on them, you also won’t need to worry about adding another card if you want superior image enhancements in surround view.
If you’re gaming on a budget, GTX is your best bet. AMD just now unveiled their successor to that card, the RX 5700 XT, and it’s close in performance when overclocked (near-enough to match Nvidia’s 20 series cards). RTX has better support for ray tracing, which looks incredible but requires huge amounts of graphics power. The 2080 Ti might be powerful enough to handle it if you can afford the sizeable investment – I know people who’ve made more than 100x profit off cryptocurrency mining started out with a humble GTX 1050 and went from there.”
NVIDIA has confirmed that the next generation of GeForce NV cards will have RTX, which has improved features not on any other line of graphics card.
Consumer GPU maker Nvidia on Monday introduced its newest GeForce GTX Studio laptops for digital designers, gamers and professionals with Quadro GPUs.
The laptops are powered by Pascal architecture-based GPUs from the company’s previous generation compute cards or Quadro cards based on its new Turing architecture.
But this is no ordinary upgrade: all earlier Pascal and even some Gaussian architectures will be discontinued in favor of these latest Turing GPUs, which deliver a high level of performance as well as new features such as real-time ray tracing – something never before seen in consumer PC graphics cards
Some people might say the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 is better than the previous generation GTX 1080 in terms of performance, but it will also cost a whole lot more – even if you get a comparable PC configuration. It’s important to keep in mind that NVIDIA isn’t the only manufacturer of graphics cards and there are tons of options out there. Another consideration is whether or not your motherboard can use either card without an upgrade – this can make switching from one chipset to another prohibitively expensive. You’ll also need to consider what monitors will work with each card; VR may be required for certain models and that’s not necessarily clear when shopping for new hardware.
RTX is better.
RTX cards will give you a more immersive gaming experience with ray-tracing and DLSS technology. RTX hardware also has a ton of new features to make your games look their absolute best – here’s why the 2080 Ti is the most powerful, highest performing graphics card ever made by NVIDIA in nearly 10 years.
