To mute someone on discord, go to their profile and click “Mute User”. To unmute a user that you’ve muted before, follow the same steps but do not select the checkbox next to their name.
To mute someone on Discord, you first need to right-click their username in the chat pane. You’ll get a menu that includes an option to “Mute”. Choose that option and they will no longer be able to chat in the server with you unless they are invited back. Keep in mind this person can still send private messages, so just because they’re muted doesn’t mean it’s polite to start flaming them again without warning.
Select the person you want to mute and press “Mute”. You will not see any posts they make or hear them in voice chat until they are unmuted. A problem arises if you forget to unmute someone, since any posts that remain hidden might be deleted after a certain amount of time. Discord’s new message notification system solves this issue, though – notifications always go away by themselves after a few seconds unless you manually dismiss them.
In order to mute someone on Discord, simply right-click the user’s name in chat and select “Mute”.
1) Open Discord app on computer
2) Go to Window > User Settings and make sure the slider is at “No one” (you may have to click that first).
3) Click the green lock icon in the bottom left corner of your screen. It will turn grey and say “Changed It, Exit to Save.”
The good news is that Discord automatically detects notifications from people in your friend list and will mute the notification sound when it detects these friends at the top of your chat.
