To avail the snipping tool on a Chromebook, please refer to this guide which includes detailed instructions.

On Chrome OS devices, you can access the different types of desktop apps that are installed using the Window menu in the lower left corner of the screen. After clicking “Window,” select Snipping Tool from the list of available applications and then use it just as I would with my Windows 10 PC.” For debugging purposes, ‘Ctrl’ + Cap locks virtual screenshot mode on. That means that you will have to release it in order for you to be able to do anything else with your mouse or touchpad.

Unfortunately, the snipping tool is not available on Chromebooks, but you can use the “Capture” feature by pressing “Ctrl + Shift + Show windows” keys to take a screenshot of the entire screen or “Ctrl + Shift + 3” for a partial screenshot.

Insert the sideways arrow into a square on your tool bar at the top of your screen. A drop-down menu will come up with choices including “Make snip”. Click it and a box can be drawn around the desired content to cut which is then saved automatically in an eponymous new folder.

Most people would have to hold down the shift key and then press ctrl-alt-shift together. If you’re using a touch screen, place two fingers on your display screen and start pinching them inwards from each other until they meet in the middle. Then, drag outwards across the area that you want to take a snapshot of.

I’ve found that using the “Ctrl + Shift + S” shortcut on my Chromebook allows me to easily take screenshots with the snipping tool, making it a convenient way to capture and share information on my device.

To use the snipping tool on a Chromebook, first open the app. Then select an area of the screen to clip and press Ctrl+M or Alt-Print Screen.

The snipping tool is located in the image editing tools choose from. To place a window on top of the desired area, simply click and drag along the screen until it encompasses all that you would like to capture. Release when you see an outline of only that section on your screen.

Give a name and press enter at this point before clicking “Yes” for save changes.

Now take care not to pan any further left or right as this will invalidate it too soon and start again from scratch, so select ‘Capture’ if you haven’t already done so by using your mouse cursor to create a square around what is needed to be captured already.

ChromeOS doesn’t come with a built-in “snipping tool”, but it is simple to use one. Here’s how to do so: Press the keyboard shortcut [Ctrl] +[Alt] + [Shift] +[ ] (The square bracket symbols now show) and you will see an onscreen popup appear, prompting you for your selection size. Dragging diagonally from any corner of your preference will capture the desired area and save it as PNG format into StorageMy Snips folder. You can view and select images by clicking on My Snips in Drive folder icon listed at top of Settings page under Files section.

The Windows snipping tool has been replaced with a time restricted window that pops up when the user right-clicks on the screen and clicks “Create A Snip”. When you release your mouse button, the snip is created in the background. If you want to save it, click create.

Use a keybinding to get into Utility Mode, or press the Search button at the bottom left until you see Chromies Utilities. Open up the “Utilities” panel with either an icon or pressing the down arrow near “HELP”. At top right is a rectangle called “snipping tool”—click on that. Press keys and hint buttons as per instructions to take a snip of your screen; can then drag and delete it. Requires PW set-up for log-in 🙁
