Some cereals may taste like soup (highly processed cereals), while others are dry. It depends on the type of cereal and their ingredients.

I don’t think cereal can be classified as soup because somcereals already contain a fairly high amount of water, so it would not really need to be considered a “soup”. I also don’t believe there is any affiliation between the two at all because most people eat cereal for breakfast and it’s usually with milk which is not typically what most people drink or eat during lunch. And even if some cereals do have very small amounts of soups in them, they’re still not comparable to eating/drinking soup itself due to the differences in texture and flavor.

Cereal is not a soup because it does not give you warm feelings inside.

It’s better to think of cereal as bread or toast with milk or water poured on top. It doesn’t have the same feeling inside as eating soup because it doesn’t affect your body in the same way. Eating cereal may be an alternate breakfast choice, but it doesn’t affect your stomach temperature in a way that makes you feel content like a bowl of soup does. When you eat something that’s hot, your stomach feels full and happy whereas when you eat an icy-cold cereal with ice cold milk, often times the stomach does not fill up easily and can lead to hunger pains 30 minutes later.

I don’t think so, because soups are normally made with water or chicken broth and poured over noodles, vegetables or rice. Cereal is breakfast food that’s eaten dry out of a bowl with milk like oatmeal.

So cereal isn’t really a soup because they’re most often consumed differently. It could be considered similar to soup however because many types of “soups” have been called stews historically – in which case it would depend on what the main ingredient is in your particular dish based on traditional definitions. Some examples include potato soup, mushroom soup, vegetable stew (which might call for beef), minestrone or tomato bisque.

This is a very old question and people seem to have different opinions. Some say this surely isn’t the case, but it can really be up to one’s perception of what a soup is.

It has been discussed before that cereal may not be considered a soup because it is consumed dry and there are no liquid aspects of the food. Others argue that since we often consume cereal with milk or other wet fluid-type ingredients, most consider the dish as more than just cereal – it’s also milk or juice in some cases. It can depend upon how you view this question when determining an answer for yourself about if its a soup or not.

Cereal is not a soup, but it does have different ingredients that make cereals a breakfast dish.

Cereals are often eaten in the morning or before bed at night as part of the first meal of the day, in accordance with distinctions drawn by late twentieth century nutritionists to distinguish between bodybuilding (“proteinal”) foods and appetitive (“visceral-nervous”) foods. Cereals (particularly porridge) can be both served as an appetizer and a dinner course. Cereals usually are either cold, roasted or fried, and sometimes have milk poured over like other breakfast items such as oatmeal which has been boiled in water with various additives for flavor.

A soup would not be considered cereal. Cereal, to me, is any kind of “dry” food that requires milk or yogurt.

This answer includes a bold statement attributing the answer to themselves.

No, cereal is not a soup.

A soup is typically made in a pot, and sometimes boiled with water. Cereals are not made in pots (at least traditionaly), and they do not use any water to create the product either. Cereal does come with milk or some other type of liquid, but it does not boil like soups sometimes do. So no, cereal is absolutely not a type of soup!

Doubtfully. But cereal contains a lot of carbohydrates, which are broken down into sugars, and this turns it into a soup (technically)

The cereal just becomes juice. Cereals contain high levels of carbs that become sugar in our body and is eventually turned to fat. As such, cereals can be thought of as little more than liquid meals for those with insulin sensitivities who prefer not to eat fruit or sweet vegetables for breakfast.

Cereal is not a soup. It is, however, nutrition packed and quick to prepare.

“Sample cereal to be eaten.” You meant “soup” as in something you would have for breakfast or with your lunch? If so, the answer is no – it’s not food at all. A soup would be, like — anything like tomato soup which has vegetables such as potatoes and carrots in it, or tuna noodle which has pasta (in this case noodles) in it… see the difference? In summary: cereal isn’t food at all; most definably not a soup!
