What are the best warlock spells for each level in 5e?
Level One: Charm Person
Charm Person forces a humanoid who can hear and understand the warlock to follow its instructions. This spell doesn’t need concentration, but it must be cast on each new target before it can affect another creature and has a duration of only 8 hours.
The best thing about this spell is that it will have a lesser effect on anyone with an intelligence above 3, so it’s still possible to charm people for those lovely pickup lines that work on an “eligible bachelor” level! Since most people you meet in public are likely to have at least 6 intelligence (7 if they’re really good looking), this is the perfect spell for any guy or gal looking swing some sexy times.

For lvl 0 spells: Dispel Magic (bane of enemies), Protection from Evil and Good (protective barrier)
For lvl 1 spell: Armor of Agathys (molten armour), Hex (temporarily curse a target).
For lvl 2 spells: Phantasmal Force, Scorching Ray.
For Lvl 3 Spells: Lightning Bolt, Fireball.
For lvl 4 Spells : Blight (deadly scourge), Confusion .
For 5th level Spells : Baleful Polymorph , Cloud Kill .
For 6th Level Spells : Chain Lightning, Disintegrate.
Level 1 – Sanctuary
Level 2 – Crown of Madness
Level 3 – Hellish Rebuke
Level 4 – Banishment
Level 5 – Flame Strike
Level 6 – Chain Lighting
Level 7- Plane Shift (Greater) or Delayed Blast Fireball spell is also a good choice. Total Death could work as well, especially against high health and hit point boss monsters.
Level 8- If you can get it, Otto’s Irresistible Dance is great for controlling multiple enemies in one round.
When it comes to warlocks, they are blessed by a host of spells that can be used in all sorts of different situations. I would say the best spell for warlocks is the Create Thrall spell. It gives you a new companion and an enemy at your service who will follow every command without question or pause. What’s not to love? Warlocks have some powerful spells like Hellish Rebuke and some great utility like Counterspell. Plus, just their eldritch blast cantrip is enough for any task that can’t wait until tomorrow!
Level 1 – binding darkness, charm person, hex (this spell can be used as a response to an attack)
Level 2 – mirror image, misty step, invisibility
Level 3 – form of the dragon I, protection from energy (against acid or fire), scrying with sending (good for spying on enemies)
Level 4 – ice storm, improved invisibility, water breathing
Level 5 – cone of cold > necroblast> Energy Drain Level 6 –> soul bind at level 7 gates at level 8, meteor swarm at lvl 9.
The last two spells are reachable if you have levels in sorcerer or warlock and cleric.
1. Ensnaring Strike – Restrains creatures for a short time and deals an initial amount of bludgeoning or piercing damage that targets AC rather than saving throws.
2. Howling Agony – Blasts the target with waves of destructive sonic energy, causing “pain” (“AN,” “Disadvantage” on attack rolls). Successfully casting causes exhaustion .
3. Hex – Attempts to turn all cre atures within 30 feet into chickens for about a minute, but has no effect on undead or constructs (Knowledge Evil & Good DMG pg 215)
5. Booming Blade- Deals 1d10+STR Rage in fire and slashing damage when it hits
