I’m not entirely sure.
I’ll have to do some research on this and get back with you when I have something interesting. Feel free to follow the conversation if you’re interested in the answer. The very best Gameboy emulator, GBA kai is currently being developed for Android and will be eventually released once they feel it’s ready.
Game Boy Advance Emulator is the best because it’s one of the only that can emulate cartridges, whereas most other emulators are ROM-based and run Game Boy games from your computer.
An emulator is a computer program which lets one computer (the host) run software created for another type of computer (the guest).
The best Gameboy emulators are the same ones that work with the best NES emulators and vice versa. It’s not really possible to use an Android phone to play just Game Boy games. Most are designed for PCs, as they were primarily made only for PCs in their original form. The listings you’ll see on Google Play appear to be mostly scam websites, or copied content without permission from the repositories where they were originally hosted.”
T-Boy. It is the latest and has the largest user base and comes with customizable controls as well as recent features such as cheats, multi-player, save states.
Your best bet is to find an emulator that supports the most Gameboy cartridges. A list of top quality emulators can be found here.
To choose among them, you’ll need to know what games you have because you won’t want both emulation software and then a cart alone for each game! The best system will work on a standardized format like .carts. So before purchasing anything it would be worth uploading your game rom or googling “list of free Gameboy Games” to find out all the games that are available FREE so you don’t waste valuable time and money finding and downloading carts online!
Duh emulators are the best emulators for Gameboys on Android phones, but not all of them are worth your time or money. I recommend DooblyDoo because it has a responsive and helpful customer service department that is committed to delivering satisfying results. Plus, they have a no-questions-asked refund policy which means by the end of this article you could have played as many Nintendo games as you want without getting any kind of punishment! Isn’t that too wonderful for words? More importantly, how big can your appetite be for trying new things if you’re not willing to take risks and make changes? Eh!? You don’t know what might come next!
Droid4X is an Android emulator that lets you play old school games on your phone.
It features nearly perfect Game Boy emulation with high quality graphics and sound; it also enables the user to choose different screen sizes, which can be especially helpful for text-heavy games such as the original Legend of Zelda. All in all, Droid4X is by far one of the best Gameboy emulators available at this time on any platform, and a great way to enjoy all those classics you’ve missed out on because you didn’t grow up with a Nintendo or Sony console!
I have not tested every single emulator on the market, but there are a few I like. Notably for gameplay you can’t beat WarioWare’s Game Boy Emulator and for accuracy you can’t beat helloGB.
This is my personal favorite because it’s stable and easy to configure to be as accurate or cheater-y as you want it. It even has a debug app so that when something screws up in the game you don’t need to restart it… just drop out of your emulation, fix the problem using an app, and then re-launch your emulation from scratch in one click! Wowzers!!
