It is hard to pick a definitive answer but according to one site, which claims to be well-regarded and credible, the Alaskan Malamute is the largest dog breed.

The Alaskan Malamute (Akmaláte) is an example of a landrace created by indigenous people in North America. The AKC recognizes it as part of its Group 3 – Northern Breeds. They are the largest purebred in that group.

The biggest breed is the Gray Wolf, which is classified as a Timberwolf in North America.

This answer will be different depending on geographical location and who you ask (a fellow dog lover). Grey wolves are also called timberwolves in North America. In general, they are much bigger than coyotes. However, recently a wolf from Yellowstone Park was genetically tested to find it’s actually a coyote cross-breed that formerly looked like a wild grey wolf-type of animal’ many people came forward claiming their pets resembled the same phenotype.’ The park attendant stated that the newly recognized subspecies has been named Coywolf . Other sources say there’s no such thing as a Coywolf since coyotes and wolves began interbreeding

The biggest wolf is the grey Siberian Husky.
The height of a blue-gray or steel gray husky may be about 24 inches from paw to shoulder, it’s weight can vary from 45 – 65 pounds, this breed has an average lifespan of 12-14 years and is very intelligent. A husky was originally bred not only for hunting with humans but also to pull sleds over long distances across snow and ice, work that today’s domesticated versions still do with great pleasure.

Huskies make excellent family pets because they are both gentle as well as lively! They are typically good with children if you start training them early in life (literally from puppyhood)

The largest gray wolf ever recorded was reportedly around 930 pounds with 4 feet in height, but the tallest and heaviest recorded grey wolves are only just over 1,000 pounds. Although it is not a record, the average weight of a purebred female Gray Wolf ranges from 155 – 165 lb (70-75 kg). Wolves can reach at least 240 lbs. for males. This is about 10% larger than German Shepherds or Black Labs.

    The Alaskan timberwolf

The Alaskan timberwolf (Canis lupus dirus) is the second largest subspecies of gray wolf on earth, and it is found throughout North America. This variety was identified in 1963 by J Wildcats. It’s only smaller than the grizzly bear. This wide animal weighs between 120-180 lbs and stands at about 4ft tall when full grown. The Timberwolf has a classic coloration pattern with cruelly blues grey upper parts and white details on its muzzle that are framed in black fur.

    Grey wolf.

The Gray Wolf is the largest wild member of the family Canidae. It is an intelligent animal, living in large social packs typically consisting of six to eleven animals. They are omnivores which means they will eat almost all types of food such as captured and scavenged rodents, rabbits, grains, vegetables and tubers (roots), berries and fruit from bushes and vines as well as fresh grasses, deer/moose carrion (dead animal meat) or fish found while hunting in freshwater lakes and rivers.

The Great Wolf breeds in North America – but they are not actually wolves.

Great wolves, or the gray wolf, is one of the most misunderstood animals on earth today because it’s commonly called a “wolf” and that elicits many predisposed prejudices from people who believe wolves to be evil creatures which must be killed for any reason including protecting livestock. It’s true that killer humans have caused their population numbers to dwindle through poaching, land development, persecution (hunting), and habitat destruction, but they don’t deserve this fate based on faulty information about them.

    The arctic wolf.

One of the most famous wolves, Gray Wolf (Canis lupus), also know as Timber Wolf in some regions or Gittáka in Lakota tribe, was scientifically classified by the Swedish naturalist Carl Linnaeus who first described Western School animals under a genus called Canis and Eastern school animals under Lupus.

The largest wolf breed is the Alaskan Malamute.

The Alaskan Malamute has a disproportionately long front legs and powerful overbites that contribute to its substantial gait, as well as pointed ears with lighter fur. It stands between 23-27 inches (58-68 cm) at shoulder height, and weighs in at 75-160 pounds (35kg). Bigger than both the Greywolf or Timberwolf.
