Kuudere is a term used to describe the personality of anime characters who act cold and distant, but are capable of being warm-hearted at times.
There are many types of “kuuderes” in anime, but one popular example would be Yuki from the series Vampire Knight. Coodere is a term you can use to refer to someone who likes spending time with their partner(s) and will always want to be close by them or have physical contact with them.

There are distinct differences between cooedere and kuudere.

Cooderes are often characterized by a more caring, loving personality but will be less expressive with his feelings. They’ll be good listeners and want their partner to confide in them – they can’t stand an argument or anything negative to mood types of people.

Kuuderes share many traits with the Cooderes but are more cold, distant, apathetic towards most things that bother other people like their own feelings or messing up a relationship – all because of a tough past where they felt weak or abandoned so they rely on themselves only now. This is why Kuuderes can become more unpredictable at times than Coodere types.

Coodere is often related to over-competitiveness in sports (ie. going all out in every event) while Kuudere are more cool, calm, and collected in situations that call for a level head. Coodere can be translated as fiery while Kuudere can be translated as frosty. Kubo Tite uses these two types of characters because he doesn’t like drawing female characters with too much emotion on their faces (because it looks so weird), therefore they are used to express anger/sadness when necessary by “smiling”. So he mostly draws them with blank stares or either an angry look or a smile.

    Kuudere

Romantically Unavailable – Little to no romantic or emotional attachment. Has zero interest in romance and contraceptives, and may be impregnable (vaginally or otherwise). In short, not interested in accumulating “love points”.

    Coodere

It’s from the word “coo” which means “to make a noise of caring concern with an intent to comfort, provide reassurance”; it is also commonly translated as “warm heartedness” in Chinese culture . In Japanese language Cooder can be broken down into two words: cūru “串” also means skewer and dere “デレ” that has come to refer affection for someone.

Kuudere is an anime personae, in which the character appears cold, cruel or uninterested. A characteristic of this type of personality is to never show their emotions on their face.

A Coodere is a character who may be shy and easily embarrassed but tries her best to communicate and speak with others without holding back.

The main difference between the two types of characters is that one has more distance while the other approaches people with interest. However, it’s not uncommon for them to exist as one personality in a series.

Most people tend to think of ‘Kuudere’ as being cold, but not necessarily hostile in character (such as Tsundere). On the other hand, Coodere is typically characterized with rudeness and apathy.

When it comes down to it though, there really isn’t that much of a difference between Cooder and Kuudere. They’re more or less the same thing, but they sound different. That said I believe they come from two different language words for ‘cold-hearted’, so you might say that word choice has something to do with it too? But I honestly wouldn’t know why we picked those individual Japanese words for cold-heartedness because their translations confuse me as well.

Coodere refers to a more emotionally and physically affectionate female character in anime, while Kuudere refers to a “cold” character who shows little to no emotions. Generally speaking, the coodere is seen as being nicer or more sympathetic because she will display some level of feelings, whereas the kuudere is the unfeeling type that can be interpreted as mean-spirited because she doesn’t show feminine qualities. In other words, Coodere is akin to Tsundere while Kuudere would be an archetype like kujinaoshi (strange bullies). However, these archetypes may also be found in males too; for instance Kud’s animated form displays little emotions…

A Coodere is very sweet and caring but can be a bit of a crybaby while a Kuudere is coldhearted, has no patience for people who are slow to catch on, and has the tendency to spout sarcastic remarks.

Coodere–This type of tsundere is usually carefree or kind-hearted on the surface only to hide her obsessions with the object(s) of her affections deep down. Her jealousy will often manifest itself as outbursts that make it difficult for anyone else but her beloved to come close. She may blush furiously when confronted by any other man in front of whom she feels herself displayed without an excuse.

A Coodere character in anime is typically more friendly and cheerful, while a Kuudere character tends to be more distant and reserved. In my personal experience, I found that Cooderes are often more outgoing and expressive, whereas Kuuderes can be harder to read and are more likely to have hidden depths to their personalities.

In my experience, a coodere character tends to be more hostile and abrasive initially, while a kuudere character may come off as cold and aloof but actually harbors a secret softer side.
