What do you think of the character Eri from My Hero Academia?
I understand this is a question about a character from an anime and not on the opinion of the person asking, but that said, I think they’re pretty one-dimensional with only one or two traits. They appear to be self-centered because their concern is always either themselves or getting into UA so she can be by All Might’s side. She has very little depth, which would make them worse than most villains in typical shonen anime series.
I feel like she’s basically just there for fan service and doesn’t represent anything unique about female characters as a whole in shonen anime series other than reminding people that these days girls can be superheroes too.
The character Eri is a very cruel and manipulative individual who will not hesitate to go out of her way to make others feel bad. She even goes as far as hurting people she considers friends. For example, when Hanta (a classmate) tries to give her his lunch because she said she wasn’t hungry, she then just proceeds to say it’s disgusting and throws up right into the food before handing it back. Often, some of these cruel moments are played for comedy but they’re still not ok with me. I’m sure we all have our opinions on some show or character like this that just doesn’t clicked with us–Hanta in this case unlucky enough- but if you’re looking for someone or something more agreeable, you might want to look elsewhere.
Eri is an introverted girl who has the power to heal any injury. She was injured and traumatized early in life, so she’s very guarded. Despite this, she wants to help people with her newfound powers. She is also kind and shy but feisty when needed be. As a young student at UA Academy, she finds that there are many great friends who can support her as well as teachers who go out of their way to give them emotional TLC when they need it most!
She starts off sad and scared before meeting all the amazing people at UA Academy – something that encourages Eri not only because of new friendships but knowing now how much there are other people out there similar in having near debilitating injuries yet manage to carry on with their lives. Eri is a great soul, brave and kind despite not having the most easiest life!
I think she’s okay as a character.
Eri is very shy and timid, which makes it difficult for her to have many friends in school. This becomes less of a problem when she befriends Deku (Izuku Midoriya) after the fire at her home village of Shimoda, though it was clear that even then Eri never made any friends outside of his company. At school Eri rarely talks, but more often than not when Eri does speak up she speaks with authority even if what she says might be incorrect or misguided – this dorky behavior suggests that despite being well-meaning and kind-hearted there are some underlying insecurities behind her attitude. When around Izuku Eri can become very shy, but when she’s on her own or in the company of friends Eri is more outspoken and tends to be logical.
I feel a lot of empathy for Eri. A lot of people who are gifted or have power must feel alone and different because they stand out so much from the average person. This is something I know all too well, especially as someone with autism. And I can relate to feeling invisible at times – nobody notices me even though I am doing really good things like taking care of my grandmother while my mother was sick (or something more important). But in a way, that’s kind of nice. It makes me feel special sometimes.
So yeah, being strong doesn’t make everything bad seem okay anymore than being a poor underdog confers infinite worth on an individual disconnected from worldly concerns without healthcare or living wage or other safety nets. It’s not like Eri is Trunks with no care in the world except he doesn’t know why Bulma loves Yamcha instead of him.
I think she’s an amazing character.
I love how her autism not only made it hard for her to engage socially, but also made everything in life difficult for her. And yet still she was so determined and achieved so much. She’s a perfect example of someone who has achieved when others said they couldn’t through sheer valor and drive, which just warms my heart every time I watch the show. I can’t wait to see how she grows next season!
Eri is extremely shy and timid, not trusting in her own abilities. Her status as a Quirkless girl who never attended a hero’s academy no doubt contributed to this. She is the #1 target of Ochaco Ura’s attention for bullies because she has literally nothing but herself to defend herself with- which provides an opportunity for momentary power over someone else (even when they’re clearly weaker than you). It turns out that Eri can summon something real specifically from determination alone, although it evolves into brute force fairly quickly and she relies on physical strength at least just as much as sight to locate others through elimination of what she cannot see. This was a weakness that was exploited by those who bullied her by turning off the lights in a dark room, which made her power useless.
Eri is a study of the power of determination and how it can be used to one’s advantage. It was what she drew on when fighting for her life against The Crawler , standing up to his own Quirk after he stabbed her hand. What she lacked was combat skills, power, and experience. Still, she managed to escape with her life.
Eri is deeply grateful to Izuku for taking her in after his mother rescued her from The Crawler. She loves being here so much that she wanted to work at the U.A. school for him while he’s away on training missions because it makes her feel like part of the family. We can see that Eri is extremely devoted to Izuku and wants to become strong enough to follow him into battle one day, because she knows he’s not strong enough to fight for himself yet.
Eri is a wonderful character who shows us the power of good parenting and how good parenting is possible even without a Quirk. She herself does not have a Quirk so it gives us an idea of what kind of role model Izuku’s mother is. It also tells us more about the character of Izuku himself, because he admires Eri so much that he takes care of her like his own daughter, even though she’s not related to him by blood.
Eri was abandoned by her parents who were led to believe she didn’t have a Quirk, but it’s obvious that Izuku’s mother took care of her like she was family after rescuing Eri from The Crawler. Being abandoned because you’re not born with a special power is horrible enough on its own without any bullying involved, just because you’re not born with something that gives strength to the people around you.
The character Eri is an interesting one that will be a big part of the story-line in the future, and it all depends on how you interpret her character so it’s hard to say.
Eri is a character from the manga series My Hero Academia by Kōhei Horikoshi. She, like many of the other characters in this series, wants to go to U.A. High School to become a hero just like her idol All Might and his sidekick Mirio Togata, whom she calls Uncle.
In the anime adaptation’s first season, Episode 12 shows Eri as an eight-year old girl who goes on investigations with All Might and Mirio because they believe she has all the qualities necessary for them to be successful at their job of exposing the Truth about aliens coming down from Outer Space (drawn onto our planet), angels living among us (trapped in human forms) and those born with supernatural powers (like All Might, the protagonist of My Hero Academia).
Eri’s life is saved by All Might at the age of five after she gets abducted by agents working for the League of Villains. This way, Eri becomes attached to All Might and wants to grow up like him because he rescued her even though that could mean she will have to live a life as a pariah, or social outcast.
Eri is known as the Zero-Gravity Quirk user because her Quirk gives her the ability to annihilate anything from making it float in mid air, stopping her brainwaves and escaping from any place by lessening gravity’s effect on her body making it easier for her to fight. However, the only thing that seems to be no match for Eri’s Zero-Gravity Quirk is one of All Might’s signature moves called Detroit Smash which he developed during his younger days.
Eri does not seem to have any known family members except for Katsuki Bakugo whom she treats like a brother.
Eri is shown to be quite mischievous at times and always has an enthusiastic personality when she interacts with her friends, but can become rather shy when she meets strangers or feels intimidated by the situation she’s in.
We also know that Eri had been kidnapped as a child due to her Quirk’s destructive nature which made her a prime target for Villains to use in their schemes. However, because she was rescued by All Might and Mirio, Eri has a strong bond with both of them due to the feelings of safety and trust they have given her when she needed it the most.
In conclusion, I think that Eri is a very interesting character who goes through a big development throughout the story to become an even stronger person than she was already. Eri is probably one of my favourite characters from My Hero Academia because she has the traits I look for in protagonists, plus her personality is very interesting and well-developed as well. Also, Eri’s ability to nullify gravity makes her a very unique character and I like that.
Like many female anime characters, Eri is a precursor to sex.
Eri is a girl who has been told by Class 1-A that she needs an adult guardian as she’s too young to be on her own and too vulnerable but how old is Eri? She’s at least about 12 years old or more. Which means, if we were being honest here, Eri looks quite mature for her age (in like the same way Armin also looked mature even though he was technically not yet in puberty). Her design screams sexual maturity well beyond what is allowed for someone of that age group based on our country’s laws so you know getting legal guardianship isn’t really going to happen because the police aren’t stupid and we know what comes with parenthood and we all know the hero course curriculum is brutal so we also know Eri can’t be in school either.
