This TV Anime is top-notch, and the story continues to be both emotionally engaging and thoroughly satisfying. Season 4 does a wonderful job of maintaining what made the earlier seasons so good while still being fresh enough to keep things exciting. All in all, it’s one of the best anime series I’ve seen thus far!
I really loved this season. The Shoyo Jin story arc was really good in that it shone a light on moments from the past that made sense of everything leading up to their current situation, and gave depth to all of the characters at varying degrees as well. I also appreciated how they set up Karasuno’s win condition in order to build suspense – with Hinata becoming stronger and stronger through each loss; they were just never able to get over the hump until his skills leveled off! That makes me excited for future seasons knowing what everyone has been working towards.
The set piece battles were my favourite part of this season because those always benefit from editing and animation details (thus @ 30 fps!)
What’s great about Haikyuu Season 4 is that it took the time to let important things grow and change in its world. Before, the series has been structured like a game, with teams of players battling each other for control of the ball. Gameboards were always meticulously planned ahead, matches played at strict times, and home team left to skulk around in dark tunnels. People moved from battle to battle quickly but everything was regulated—both physical-solid walls on court and mental borders limiting what one character could say or do. But this fourth season changes all that by showing how even if everything goes according to plan on the playground, there are still swings in momentum any given team can take their opponents back into such as injuries
My review of Haikyuu Season 4 is that it’s a great anime with good follow up story lines from the 3rd season. Hmmm… I don’t want to give out any spoilers, but I will say it’s worth watching if you’re into sports animes.
If you haven’t seen any other seasons of this anime, I recommend reading season 1 reviews. Haikyuu is a fantastic sports anime that centers on the protagonist, Hinata Shouyou who trains to recruit members for his own volleyball team. With its rapid-fire animation and exhilarating sound effects, anyone who is a fan of the original sport will enjoy this anime regardless if they’re good at anything related to the sport or not.
I’ve really enjoyed watching how the characters have developed since season one onwards – still filled with flaws but now also stronger in certain aspects as well. The new team in each season are always interesting and it was fun to see their different personalities clash against each other as they battle through an intense tournament.
I find that the episodes seem to have been rushed or something–I just found out about it so I’ll need to watch some more before I feel like a qualified commentator.
Haikyuu Season 4 is overall intriguing and definitely enjoyable. That being said, criticisms of the show must not be ignored; in this sense, Haikyuu may be a good starter anime series for those who are new to the genre and considering getting into Japanese animation, but with plenty of room for improvement. However, it is easy to get invested in the story when you typically see where everything goes wrong ahead of time (usually because typically someone doesn’t listen).
I appreciate the show’s different tone. It’s reinforced by the soundtracks of each season, but Haikyuu’s Season 4 had a more lively and melody-driven soundtrack that carried it. Great use of overtones and harmonies in this one!
Haikyuu has not lost its comedic nature or the ability to make me laugh out loud – if anything I think they’ve relished in adding more jokes through specific spells and slight alterations to character designs. But they have also been able up mix things up tonally from time to time, creating some beautiful stretches where tension is high and you can actually feel it throughout your body.
I love Haikyuu. Season 4 was a little fast in the middle for me, but it’s always exciting to see what they will do next! I think it is one of the best sports anime out there.
It even made me want to play volleyball which i had never done before before starting this show! And yes, season 4 was kind of rushed at times, but usually when that happens it’s because a lot more needs to be set up for the following season and Season 5 is on its way so nows not the time to get down on anything that may have been a bit too rushed or some ideas we would have wanted to explore more… There are SO MANY things about Haikyuu!!!!!!!!! It’s definitely worth watching.
The animation is solid as always, and it’s great to see the return of all our beloved characters after a long wait. There are things starting to tie together from past games that have been referenced in the show before now, which is fun for people who remember those events.
The series was also excellent at wrapping up some of the unanswered questions from previous arcs, and establishing where Hinata and Kageyama are going like while they’re still together on away games. On one hand, I am saddened we don’t get to spend more time with them coming back home but on the other hand there is still plenty of fuel left for future episodes if needed…
